Trade Finance

Trade finance readiness review for international businesses

A focused view of how Stead Global reviews trade transactions, documentation, and referral suitability before an independent regulated finance provider is approached. We do not lend, issue facilities, or guarantee funding.

Any trade finance facility, pricing, or disbursement is provided only by independent third-party providers, subject to their eligibility, due diligence, and approval.

Review scope

Trade finance cases we assess

Each review below explains when it applies and what Stead Global examines before a case may be referred onward. For account or supplier payment reviews, see our Solutions page.

Import & export transaction readiness

When this applies

  • You are importing or exporting goods on commercial terms
  • A bank or counterparty has asked for trade finance support
  • Transaction structure needs clarity before provider approach

What we review

  • Buyer/supplier roles, goods, and shipment profile
  • Contracts, invoices, and shipping documentation
  • Settlement timing and documentary requirements

Next step: Transaction-readiness summary and referral assessment where a regulated finance provider may be relevant.

Supplier-side transaction readiness

When this applies

  • You need working capital or pre-shipment support as a supplier
  • Buyer payment terms are longer than your cash cycle
  • Shariah-aligned structures may be relevant to the case

What we review

  • Supplier transaction flow and underlying trade
  • Purchase orders, invoices, and fulfilment evidence
  • Whether independent providers may offer suitable structures

Next step: Referral assessment to independent trade finance providers where applicable.

Receivables documentation readiness

When this applies

  • Receivables or buyer credit documentation is under review
  • A factor, financier, or bank has requested a document pack
  • Records are incomplete or inconsistent across entities

What we review

  • Invoice trails, delivery proof, and buyer confirmations
  • Consistency between contracts, filings, and trade records
  • Gaps against typical financier onboarding requests

Next step: Organised documentation pack and referral assessment to suitable finance providers.

LC & documentary collection readiness

When this applies

  • A letter of credit or documentary collection is in discussion
  • Documents must align with LC terms or collection instructions
  • You need structure before bank or provider submission

What we review

  • LC or collection terms against underlying trade
  • Bill of lading, certificates, and compliance documents
  • Readiness for presentation or provider handover

Next step: Documentation readiness summary; referral where independent regulated providers handle the instrument.

Shariah-aligned requirement review

When this applies

  • Counterparties or internal policy require Shariah-aligned trade finance
  • You need clarity on structure before approaching providers
  • Documentation must support Islamic finance onboarding

What we review

  • Transaction background and commercial substance
  • Whether requirements may suit independent Shariah-compliant providers
  • Documentation gaps for provider compliance teams

Next step: Requirement summary and referral assessment where suitable independent providers are relevant. Stead Global does not issue religious rulings or Shariah certifications.
