Who this is for

Suitability and client profiles

Why would a trading company need an additional international provider if its local bank already supports international payments?

Local banks in many countries support international payments, and for many companies that is sufficient. However, some SME trading companies may still need an additional regulated provider route depending on their buyers, suppliers, currencies, transaction corridors, FX requirements, documentation needs, or speed and cost considerations. This is not necessarily a replacement for the company’s local bank. It may be an additional route for specific cross-border business requirements, subject to provider eligibility, onboarding, due diligence, compliance review, and approval.

Why use Stead Global instead of applying directly to a provider?

A client can apply directly if they wish. The benefit of Stead Global is preparation and case clarity. Many SMEs do not know how to explain their activity clearly, which documents a provider will expect, or which provider type fits their corridor and trade flow. We help organise the case before provider referral assessment, which may save time and reduce avoidable rejection risk.

How can this help import/export companies?

Import/export companies often need to explain their goods, suppliers, buyers, countries, invoices, contracts, and payment purpose clearly. Stead Global helps review whether this information is ready before provider referral assessment.

What type of companies are suitable?

Genuine SMEs and trading companies with clear business activity, ownership, supplier/buyer relationships, countries involved, and supporting documents.

What type of businesses are not suitable?

Stead Global does not proceed with unclear or restricted activities. Providers may decline crypto, gambling, adult business, money exchange/remittance, weapons or dual-use goods, sanctioned countries or parties, unclear shell companies, unlicensed regulated activities, or cases where source of funds, counterparties, or trade flow cannot be clearly understood.

Independent providers

What providers may offer

Where are accounts opened?

This depends on the independent provider and client eligibility. Providers may offer local account details, SWIFT details, multi-currency account/payment details, wallet-style structures, or other arrangements. The provider confirms the final structure.

Are account/payment details issued in the company’s own name?

In some cases, providers may issue account or payment details in the client company’s own name. This depends on the provider, country, currency, account structure, and compliance review.

Is it directly with a bank?

Not always. Some solutions may be with banks, while others may be with regulated EMIs, PSPs, payment institutions, or provider platforms using banking partners. Stead Global describes the structure based on what the provider confirms.

What if the PSP or provider has a problem?

Clients should use recognised and regulated providers and review the provider’s regulatory status, safeguarding model, terms, fees, limits, complaints process, and risk disclosures. Stead Global does not hold client funds; clients deal directly with the provider.

What provider features may be available?

Depending on eligibility, providers may offer business account/payment details, multi-currency receiving, international payments, FX tools, cards, professional statements, or supplier/contractor payment features. Stead Global does not provide these services directly.

Process & documents

Enquiries, documents, and next steps

What documents may be required?

Typical provider onboarding documents may include company incorporation or trade licence, ownership structure, director/shareholder identification, proof of address, business website or company profile, invoices/contracts, supplier and buyer details, expected volumes, countries involved, and purpose of account/payment requirement.

What happens after I submit an enquiry?

Stead Global performs an initial review. If the enquiry appears relevant, the client may be asked to complete a detailed intake form and provide supporting documents so we can better understand the company, trade flow, countries, currencies, expected volumes, and documents available.

What happens if a provider rejects the case?

Provider rejection can happen. If a reason is available, Stead Global may review whether the issue relates to documentation, activity, geography, industry, ownership, transaction flow, or provider risk appetite. No alternative provider outcome is guaranteed.
